Along with designers such as Neville Brody, Marian Bantjes was asked to design one of ten special covers for GQ Italia's tenth anniversary issue.
Within my own practice I am trying to use colour in a simple and effective way as shown here in Bantjes's design for GQ. Looking at the way Bantjes and others I have came across the way in which you use colour, especially bold colour (yellow and black) is about leaving space for your design to breathe. You can see that here where the yellow and black has been punctured by white squares.
"Of all the things I’ve done recently, this is my favourite. It’s structured, manly yet pretty, n’est-ce pas?" (Marian Bantjes, 2009).
